The Moanalua Gardens Community Association (MGCA) was established in 1960 by like-minded neighbors who wanted to give a voice to their community concerns without the regulation of City Neighborhood Boards. Join us in creating a vibrant and connected community!

2024 MGCA Installation Dinner
WHERE? Moanalua Elementary School Cafeteria
WHEN? Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 5 PM to 8 PM
WHY ATTEND? This event is a great opportunity to connect with your neighbors and get involved in shaping the future of Moanalua Gardens. Whether you are a longtime resident or new to the neighborhood, your presence and voice make our community special. Join us as we look forward to the exciting journey ahead!
COST? Moanalua residents and community members are welcome to attend the event free of charge (dinner purchase is optional). Dinner will be purchased at Sushi King (sushikinghi.com). Pre-ordered dinners must be picked up by 7 PM. No refunds! Dinner is not guaranteed for those who did not pre-order.
Option A: Pre-order dinner on Eventbrite (mymgca.eventbrite.com; Eventbrite processing fees will be assessed)
Option B: Mail a check to Director Bryan Ito at 1333 MOELOLA PLACE, HONOLULU, HI 96819 (checks must be postmarked before July 1, 2024 and online orders end on July 10 at noon). If you are mailing a check, please complete, detach, and mail the slip on your MGCA Newsletter.
Special orders or requests must be emailed to mymgca@gmail.com before July 1, 2024. If you would like to donate door prizes, desserts, drinks (non-alcoholic), provide entertainment, or volunteer for this event, contact Bryan Ito at (808) 779-5800 or email mymgca@gmail.com. Desserts & drinks (non-alcoholic) will be complimentary for all attendees.

Since 1960, MGCA continues to promote the welfare of residents in the Moanalua Gardens community through civic engagement and social events. Following the end to the COVID-19 public health emergency, MGCA resumed operations in Fall 2023. Your MGCA is here to serve and promote the well-being of residents in our community for future generations.
Any adult can be a MGCA member! Residency in Moanalua Gardens is NOT required.

No. MGCA is a Domestic Nonprofit Corporation (https://hbe.ehawaii.gov/documents/business.html?fileNumber=99156D2).
2) Is membership voluntary or mandatory?
Voluntary.
3) How much are the Association fees?
$15 per household (as of 2024).
4) Does Moanalua have a Neighborhood Board?
No. Moanalua has 2 community associations: Moanalua Gardens Community Association (MGCA) and Moanalua Valley Community Association (MVCA). These associations serve the same advocacy purpose as Neighborhood Boards and can host fun events for our community.

Scouts BSA (Aloha Council Troop 9)
MGCA is the charter organization for the Moanalua Troop 9 Boy Scouts. As a member of Troop 9, boys ages 11-17 learn to become leaders as they work toward Scouting’s highest rank: Eagle.
